My funniest, or perhaps scariest memory of union labor was when a guy told me he had 3 years of General AV Tech experience because he had puchased the Xbox 3 years ago and has been playing non-stop since that time.  He even boasted about having hooked it up himself.  I also remember while working as a co-producer on an event and steppin out onto the loading dock only to find the other producer 2 feet off the ground gaff taped to a vending machine... apparently he mouthed off to the dock master, although he swears he was just minding his own business.
